The debate whether plasma is better than an LCD TV when it comes to choosing flat panel TV monitors is a hot one. Both have their pros and cons. Here are a few of them.
Pros and cons of Plasma TVs
Plasma TVs are known for their clear, sharp, and life-like pictures. However, plasma screens are also known for burned images that can remain for weeks on the screen. They also have limited angles, unlike LCD screens where you can see the same image no matter where you are sitting or standing. Often, the screen appears black in some angles in plasma TV screens. Plasma TV screens are also susceptible to damage when exposed to cold weather. Condensation can easily damage the unit’s internal circuitry.
Pros and cons of LCD TVs
LCD TVs, on the other hand, are known to perform better than plasma TVs in brightly lit rooms because of their inherent anti-glare technology. They also offer better resolutions when viewed at close distance, typically in instances when LCD screens are used as computer monitors. The non-susceptibility of LCD screens to burn-in also makes them more suited for the static images typical of most computer applications.
Plasma and LCD TV both have their own advantages and disadvantages. It depends on your needs and preferences whether you get the one or the other. With the top brands, you are bound to get clear and crisp images with either type of display.

HDTVS are the in-thing in home entertainment today, but they are not cheap. These typically become the focal point of any home entertainment system, so you have to be careful about what model or brand you choose.
Specs and features
The specs and the features should be top considerations when shopping for HDTVs. Important specifications you need to look into when buying a new unit or replacing an old one include resolution, contrast, video connections, energy efficiency, automatic brightness control and volume leveling, Internet connectivity, and LCD display. Resolution is a major specification in HDTVs. Most units sport a 1080p resolution for 40-inch sets and larger. You will find a resolution of 366 by 768 pixels in smaller sets. Contrast refers to the difference between the darkest and the lightest image that your screen can produce. In general, it is determined by how black the blacks are. Blacks that tend to be on the gray side often produce washed out colors.
Price and customer rating
The price and the customer rating should also be considered. There are a lot of good reviews for top brands, but you may only be able to afford a few of these models. Experts advise picking out the model that fits your budget and choosing reliable brands, rather than going for really cheap sets that will not last in the long run.
The decision to purchase an HDTV unit is a big thing, so choose yours carefully. Keep in mind the important specs and use customer reviews as a guide to choosing the best HDTV unit for you.

Many would suggest that the first step to buying an HDTV should be to go online and read the reviews and ratings. These ratings track the different pros and cons of an HDTV. They can be a great help when buying one. With all the HDTV options around, it is easy to get confused. At least with the HDTV rating, you have an idea of the quality of HDTV available to you and your budget.
What online HDTV ratings usually consider
There are many things that online HDTV ratings consider. Foremost here includes the quality of color, the sharpness of its black, as well as other features and costs. The quality of color is, of course, an important aspect in picking out an HDTV. Gamers might also be more sensitive to the “trueness” of an HDTV’s black. When these two factors are considered alongside other features, you can easily select an HDT that has the most bang for the buck.
Using online HDTV ratings when shopping through the net
When you’ve read through the different reviews and are more or less familiar with the ratings, then you can more assuredly buy an HDTV online. The ratings are supposed to be a guide in your selection.
HDTV ratings can help you in choosing the best HDTV for your home. The trick is to find a reliable HDTV ratings source.

High definition TVs come in an array of technologies that include plasma televisions and LCD TVs. These technologies broadcast shows and present motion images in a wider screen at sharper quality.
Key features of HDTV Plasma
Plasma TVs give you a very large, bright, and clear picture. Natural colors can be seen while watching the screen. The quality is applicable to both TVs and computer monitors. Plasma TVs are among the most expensive, with large screens costing thousands of dollars. Its life expectancy is about 20,000 to 30,000 hours. Extra costs are incurred from installation.
Key features of HDTV LCD
LCD TVs are lightweight and thin in size, making them easy to hang against walls. Images come out very crisp and bright, emphasizing blue and red colors. The technology is trustworthy and is the most energy-efficient of HDTV technologies. However, its size is smaller than plasma TVs. Other models cannot handle fast motion properly, so don’t always expect high quality while watching fast sports.
Choosing an HDTV for your needs and budget
Picking between and LCD and plasma HDTV really depends on the kind of entertainment you’re after. Plasma TVs are recommended for high-end users, while the LCD is a good start for those on a budget.

The idea of High Definition TVs began in the middle 1970s. Although today it seems like a recent innovative development, it has been in the works for over 30 years.
How high definition TVs began
The idea began in Japan as an effort to sell more TVs and improve its image quality. The very first HDTV system was MUSE, which used filtering to lessen bandwidth utilization and the original source signal. Japan’s public network, NHK was invited by the National Association of Broadcasters in the US to present MUSE to the Federal Communications Commission. Unfortunately, some groups did not want HDTV to be introduced to the US.
Current basic features of HDTVs
Thanks to the rise of technology as a need, HDTVs are a popular choice among home viewers today. HDTV brings characters to life in the comforts of your living room, displaying wide screen pictures on large or regular screens. Colors are vivid in detail and are matched with stunning surround sound.
Continuing popularity of high def TVs
With everything visually oriented and most people seeking quality entertainment, HDTVs will continue to be in demand. Current buyers can anticipate exciting developments in high definition technology.

With technology constantly in progress, the entertainment experience has been more enhanced thanks to high definition televisions. These TVs let you enjoy your favourite shows and films in their clearest form.
HDTV resolution
High-definition TVs use a high definition source that combines over a million pixels, making the images sharper and more realistic. Colors stand out, mesh, and contrast each other in the smoothest manner. The highest resolution available ranges from 1080p to 1920p.
High definition TV sound system
Watching TV is not complete without superior sound quality. HDTVs enhance viewing further by using digital transmission instead of analog. Many HDTV programs use Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound to fully satisfy TV viewers. Of course, you’ll need the right sound system that will showcase Dolby Digital’s advantage over other audio systems. You can start by installing an external set of surround speakers. A complete set would have two front speakers, two surround speakers, a sub woofer, and a center channel speaker.
Other key features of high def TV
HDTVs use different technologies, such as LCD, DLP, projection TVs, and plasma. Other models used HDTV tuners, while others need a satellite to get the HDTV broadcasts.

We cannot judge these receivers unless we try them. So, I decided to buy the latest HD100 Satellite HDTV Receiver for my HDTV. Did you know that billboards are actually pixelated when you take a deeper look on it? It's a huge stretched printed photo on a tarpaulin that Ad people hang along the highway or on the walls of those colossal buildings. You can also see them just about anywhere. Well, billboards look smooth at a distance. But once you get near it, you will see those small squares that form like a mosaic. Yes, it's true if you'll have a chance to prove it yourself.

HDTV has a certain standard that broadcasters follow to be able to send a clearer signal of their shows. HDTV resolution's also composed of vertical and horizontal lines that form the images on your TV. Fixed on any kind and size of television is the characteristic of vertical resolution, whereas horizontal resolution varies and depends on the size, type, and functionality of your television. However, HDTV resolution remains higher than the normal television. It's because HDTV is designed with more advanced technology.

A program's resolution depends on its makers. However, TV shows resolution is different from film resolution. This is because TV shows are usually aired only on house TV's, while films are showed on big screens. Moreover, you can more enjoy watching a movie with HDTV technology because HDTV provides the highest resolution for films so that you can picture the clearer side of the motion picture. And, if you want to watch your recorded family getaway with a film quality, watch it on HDTV.

Don't you hate it when you are watching your favorite TV show, say, the cruel Ultimate Fighting and all of a sudden your TV becomes a blinking cosmic explosion? TV interruptions! I hate TV interruptions; may it be my wife's nagging ritual or children's badgering, black outs, and especially channel cuts. I hope I could put a shield on my TV antenna so that nothing would ever affect its smooth tv reception.

Zenith has created the perfect art of uninterrupted TV watching, plus it added a bonus of more than 30 channels for you to enjoy. This new HDTV antenna is like a shield that protects your television from unknown signals that corrupt your TV, which cause interruption. This also sends out clear signals to any area even though the area is over-populated. For those who are in the rural areas, you will also be able to enjoy many HDTV channels as long as you have this kind of shield.

The Australian technological industry has released many digital television and other technological gadgets for how many years. Recently it has produced an HD digital television that has high power and more advanced technological features such as widescreen pictures, sharp images, and a high resolution screen. 576 lines x 720 pixels at 50Hz progressive or 576p is the minimum resolution of High Definition pictures. It can also reach up to 720p or 1080i, and it benefits widescreen television, like the projector, more than a regular sized TV.

SD is different from HDTV. Standard Definition or SD is another kind of signal that is transmitted from broadcasters to your TV. If broadcasters allow only HD TV signals, your SD TV will not receive this signal thus certain programs will not appear on your TV. Don't worry! Your problems have been solved by the Federal Government. They have required broadcasters to also provide SD signal along with the HD programs. So, you can enjoy more shows every day!

I scanned the website and found some information about it. I learned that this amplified indoor and outdoor HDTV antenna can be mounted virtually anywhere even on an RV. Based on the website, CEA's color code for the TC 32 unidirectional antenna is Light Green, which means it can receive signals from up to 50 miles away. This antenna also includes a calibrated amplifier that is set to provide the best possible HDTV signal. This amplifier features a bypass setting, allowing you to watch TV without the assistance of the amplifier, if wanted. This feature is especially useful if you find a station with an extremely strong signal that distorts when amplified. I've read something really terrible today. The Matsuhita Company, which is the maker of Panasonic, will released four brand new high definition television. According to the article, the company wanted the plasmas to become the largest TVs in the world. I think I wouldn't be needing this, because I have enough television sets in the house. My TVs are huge enough to cover my living room wall, and I won't be needing a boob tube box to replace my door.
Saturday, April 28. 2007
These Panasonic TVs will offer the highest native resolution among all television sets. And if Panasonic's will be the highest, I wonder if the radioactive rays that these TVs will emit are enough to remove my warts. Beauty centers use laser beams and radiation to remove unsightly warts, wrinkles, and even body hair! Therefore, it would save us a lot of penny if we just stand naked in front of a Panasonic TV and let its ultra-magnetic-radioactive-laser-beam remove the unnecessary stuff on our skin.

Matsushita is planning to compete with Sharp in the unending war of HDTVs. The 103" HDTVs are expected to reach shop shelves within this year. I just hope managers of these appliance centers would take the time to expand their shops if they're selling these TVs. I'm a fully-matured claustrophobic, so basically I don't want to say excuse me to large TVs blocking my way whether they're flat or analogs. Well, that's it for now guys. I have to face my TV because I have armpit hairs to deal with!
